A Scarecrow Does More Than Chase Away Crows In Messengers 2

A Scarecrow Does More Than Chase Away Crows In Messengers 2 Too bad The Messengers wasn’t released post-Kristen Stewart-Twilight-success; it would have made even more money. Not that $55 million worldwide is that much, but it was enough to get someone at Sony thinking prequel. Learn the reason why the Solomon family was haunted in their new home when Messengers 2: The Scarecrow hits DVD on July 21st.

Messengers 2 tells the story of John Rollins, a North Dakota farm struggling to keep his farm function and his family together. He puts a scarecrow in his field, which seems to solve all of his problems. Unfortunately, his luck starts to change when he’s placed under a curse losing his sanity and possibly his loved ones.

I don’t know about this one. Part of me wants to get the DVD to satisfy my need to watch mediocre horror films while the other side thinks it’s ridiculous to spend $24.96 on this one. Can I borrow someone’s copy? I get the feeling there’s nothing original about Messengers 2. We have the creepy inanimate object, the guy it drives mad and some know-it-all foreshadowing the whole disaster. There isn’t even a cast member I’m looking forward to see terrorized. Who are Norman Reedus and Claire Holt anyway? Martin Barnewitz could have at least nabbed a semi-familiar face to play one of the lead rolls.
