All of the entertainment sensations of the year are hitting DVD just in time for the holidays. If you’re an animated fan you’ve already seen Wall-E and Kung-Fu Panda come to DVD, with Horton Hears a Who following closely. Just about everyone can appreciate The Dark Knight which hits DVD in just over a week. But Batman, Wall-E, Po, and Horton will find competition from this year’s entertainment sensation: Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog.
Already available for free on Hulu.com and for purchase on iTunes, now Dr. Horrible is coming to DVD on December 19th with some exclusive extras, including “Commentary: the Musical.” That’s right - a musical commentary track to accompany the musical short story. The same folks behind the main story are behind the commentary, so it’s bound to be entertaining. Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog is available for pre-order right now on Amazon for $14.99 - not a bad price considering how entertaining the product is. But is it a low enough price point to overcome the fact that some people have already paid for it on iTunes or can watch it for free online?
