I’ve had my fill of Martin Lawrence this year. The good news for me is that I’ve already gotten his movies out of the way in theaters, so I don’t really have to give their DVD releases a second thought other than to report about them here. Ready or not, they’re coming home, with Lawrence’s first 2008 release, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins heading into stores on June 17th.
Even though this really isn’t a movie you want to welcome home, I do have to admit the DVD is coming with a fair amount of extras, including 45 minutes of deleted footage and an alternate opening. Heck, that’s almost another Lawrence film included in with this one.
Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins stars Lawrence as a high profile celebrity who returns to his small town roots for his parents’ 50th Anniversary, leading to a ton of culture shock as Jenkins attempts to transcend his status as the awkward, picked on child.
