Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition Gets Last-Minute Delay
So just recently Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment sent out word that the Batman: Arkham Knight Batmobile Edition was being cancelled just a week out from release. They've followed up on that with more troublesome news that the Limited Edition of Batman: Arkham Knight has been delayed.
Videogamer.com managed to get their hands on an e-mail from a customer who was notified by Amazon of the following...
This news comes once again just ahead of the game's launch on June 23rd for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Gamers originally had to deal with Amazon, GameStop, GAME and other major brick and mortar and online retailers pulling the plug on the Arkham Knight Batmobile Edition of the game over Warner Bros., claiming that there were quality concerns over the limited edition release.
Videogamer.com notes that Amazon will have a form of compensation in tow for those affected by the physical delay of the Arkham Knight Limited Edition by sending out codes to those who pre-ordered the bundle. The download codes will allow those who pre-ordered the game to have access to it and play it the day of release, and this will be followed up with the shipment of the Limited Edition physical copies when they're finally made available during the middle of July, next month.
I'm not exactly sure what's been going on behind the scenes at Warner Bros., but the distributor appears to have run into some serious issues when it comes to the physical stock of the highly anticipated open-world Batman: Arkham Knight.
There's obviously tons of pressure for them to deliver because this is Rocksteady's final Arkham game in the illustrious open-world series surrounding the legendary Batman. The game is expected to go out with a bang and now Warner Bros., Entertainment is in a bit of a pickle when it comes to delivering on one of the more expensive novelty items that ships with the game.

Gamers, more than likely, won't be too perturbed at the lack of another very expensive toy or device not making the cut for the game's launch, but they might find themselves a bit annoyed at not having the limited edition of the title arrive on time with the appointed June 23rd launch date. Apparently something went haywire during the shipping and manufacturing process.
As mentioned, Batman: Arkham Knight is Rocksteady's final open-world Batman game before they move on to something else. Gamers have been clamoring for the studio to tackle other superhero games and make them as dynamic and visually engaging as they've done with the Batman titles. Of course, we're likely a long ways away from whatever Rocksteady has planned next, and I'm sure Warnr Bros., is mostly just focused on making sure they deliver on the limited editions as promised.
