I hope SEGA is walking by the Capcom area at E3 and taking some notes. Why? Because Capcom is doing their old blue bomber proud with Mega Man 9. The game continues the story, such as it is, after Mega Man 8, and it continues the classic style of those old games. Not just the 8-bit look either, because that’s just cool for the retro lovers. No, I’m talking the gameplay. That ultimate feeling of satisfaction in completing a Mega Mangame is on its way back. This is so damn good that it erases the horrible games of the last decade from my mind. You are forgiven for whoring out Mega Man Capcom. You are forgiven.
This time around riots are breaking out around the world and Dr. Light is surprised to find that his own robot creations are the cause. Even more appalling is Dr. Wiley’s appearance on the news proclaiming Dr. Light as the evil mastermind behind it all. So Mega Man sets out to take care of the problem and battle enemies that bring to mind the old 80s days of fighting Gutsman or Cutman.
With characters designed by Mega Man mastermind Keiji Inafune M ega Man 9 is sure to please old and new fans alike when it launches later this year on Wii Ware, Xbox LIVE Arcade and the Playstation Network.
