Crysis 2 will be released for multiple platforms but the demo will not be. EA and Crytek revealed today that the shooter's multiplayer demo will be arriving January 25th exclusively on the Xbox 360.
The demo will let Xbox Live Gold subscribers experience one map ("Skyline") and two game modes from the full game. The two modes are "Team Instant Action" - the team deathmatch equivalent - and the objective-based "Crash Site." In "Crash Site," players fight to control alien drop pods and earn points by defending them from enemies.
The full version of Crysis 2 will have six multiplayer modes and 12 maps. The multiplayer side of the game was designed by Crytek UK, formerly known as Free Radical Design. They were purchased by Crytek in 2009 and are now dubbed a "specialist multiplayer studio."
The exclusivity of the multiplayer demo isn't a huge shock. The beta for the game was exclusive to Xbox Live as well.
