Dark Void is one of those cool under-appreciated games scheduled to be released in the early part of 2010. To help promote the game a bit more and get its awesome concepts more exposed to the gaming community, Capcom released a new developer documentary that’s all about the characters.
This lengthy, five-minute even video talks about the main characters of the game, including the hero Will, his female love-interest sidekick Eva, and the incomparable Nikola Tesla – yes the same Tesla that rivaled Edison and was able to light up bulbs that were buried in the ground.
The video mixes in a little bit of gameplay and a lot of cinematics. It looks pretty good despite the lack of motion-capturing used in the actual cut-scenes but it’s forgivable given the large scope of the gameplay environments and multi-directional, multi-layered combat scenarios. Basically, players can fight from any scalable landscape or structure within the game, or fly around and engage enemies whether on a vertical or horizontal plane. It’s pretty awesome.
