Guild Wars 2 Invites Players To Investigate The Dragon's Reach

For those of you looking for more baddies to kill, quests to tackle and loot to pilfer in Guild Wars 2, your wait is finally over as NCSOFT and ArenaNet announced the latest update to the game's living world, “The Dragon's Reach: Part 1.”

Judging by this update's title, I'm assuming that we're only a few month's off from The Dragon's Reach: Part 2-Electric Boogaloo. Until then, however, it looks like NCSOFT and ArenaNet have plenty of new content for Guild Wars 2 fans to sink their teeth into with this latest batch of new content. According to the update announcement, the game world of Tyria is once again threatened by the Elder Dragon, Mordremoth.

“Now, in The Dragon's Reach: Part 1, all of Tyria must come to understand this dire threat,” reads the official announcement. “Players have taken on a central role as heroes who hold the fate of Tyria in their hands. They're among those who have come to recognize the enormity of Mordremoth's danger, and now they must work with new and old allies to unite the world's races against it.”

Those sound like some pretty unfair odds stacked against Mordremoth. I mean, he's one super old dragon with a handful of minions versus an entire world of heroes? You Tyrians should be ashamed of yourselves. Honestly.

As for as the story goes, it sounds like the races of Tyria are not yet convinced of the threat that Mordremoth poses, opting instead to worry about their individual concerns. You main goal will be to assist in these unique threats while helping each race understand that what they are fighting is a symptom of the root problem, Mordremoth.

If you're looking to enjoy all of this new content, all you need to do is log into your Guild Wars 2 account and get to questing. Once you complete the new bits of story, you'll be able to run through the tale a second time in the Story Journal mode, which grants access to even more difficult challenges. Your rewards will be just as great, though, with all kinds of new gear and items available from drops and chests.

Heard enough? Want to learn more about the living world of Guild Wars 2? Then head on over to the official website, educate yourself, and maybe get to questing, yeah?
