Lego Marvel Super Heroes Announced For Fall Launch

The Marvel universe is evolving, morphing into a more powerful, way more blocky version of its former self. Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, developer TT Games, The Lego Group and Marvel Entertainment have announced the impending fall launch of Lego Marvel Super Heroes.

At this point, you would think that the Lego series of games would have run out of franchises to turn into lighthearted, wholesome romps of action gaming entertainment. Covering everything from Star Wars to The Lord of the Rings, Lego titles have won over the hearts of gamers the world over and, backed by a property as massive as the entirety of Marvel, it looks like their next offering could be their biggest success yet.

Slated to hit the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, Windows PC, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita and, I’m guessing, the Virtual Boy, Lego Marvel Super Heroes is primed to flood the market with more action, more brick breaking, and more puzzle solving than ever before, all set within a world where great power comes with great responsibility.

“We’re very excited to bring a myriad of classic Marvel characters to life in Lego form for some fun, family-friendly gameplay,” said TT Games Publishing Managing Director Tom Stone. “Players will brave the ultimate mission to save the world as they explore famous landmarks in Lego New York and take the adventure beyond Earth to iconic locations in the Marvel Universe.”

Lego Marvel Super Heroes’ storyline will revolve around Nick Fury gathering Earth’s mightiest heroes to defeat the likes of Loki and Galactus. Players will be able to take control of the usual suspects like Wolverine, Spider-Man and Captain America, as well as pretty much every other Marvel character you could ever desire. No, seriously, the cast is more than 100 strong.

Look for Lego Marvel Super Heroes to hit every console known to man sometime this fall.
