The Limited Edition Uncharted 4 Bundle Comes Out In April, Get The Details
Sony has announced that there is a Uncharted 4-themed PS4 bundle on the way that will be available on April 26th for $399.99. The bundle will come with a specially engraved blue and gray PS4 with an embossed image of Nathan Drake on the front.
They detail the bundle over on the PlayStation blog, where it's revealed that the limited edition 500GB PS4 unit will feature a gold “SIC PARVIS MAGNA” phrase on it, which stands for “Greatness from small beginnings”. According to the post, this exact same phrase is what's detailed on Nathan's wedding ring. They give you a glimpse at the console and the controller in the promo video below.
The Uncharted 4 bundle will be available in North America for $399.99 USD and $499.99 CAD. The bundle contains a PS4, a custom blue and gray DualShock 4 controller, and a Blu-ray copy of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
In celebration of the launch of the game this spring, Sony and Naughty Dog will also sell the licensed DualShock 4 controller separate from the bundle, and it will be available this March for $64.99. The controller will be accompanied by the Gold Wireless Headset for the PS4, which will be available for $99.99 in early March in limited quantities. The controller and headset would be perfect for completing the set of PS4 accessories with the blue and gray theme. However, I must say that the gray doesn't look very grayish... it looks more like a matte black; but I digress.
Naughty Dog delayed the game a couple of times, moving it out of the fall 2015 window and into the spring of 2016. Originally the game was going to launch in March, but the developers decided that there were still some issues to work out and they decided that they would delay the game by a few weeks to tweak some of the features and polish them up before release. As the legend Miyamoto had mentioned – and it still rings true to this day – “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.”
I wish more developers and publishers took that to heart with their games. There is no second chances or do-overs when it comes to a game launch. And during the late half of the seventh generation of gaming and all throughout the first generation we've had one too many games release that were rushed out the door in order to fall within a specific quarterly time frame, resulting in a poorly received product with glitches out the wazoo, such as Batman: Arkham Knight, Assassin's Creed Unity or SimCity.
Most PlayStation fans are okay with the delays for Uncharted 4 because they know this is Drake's final outing and they would rather Naughty Dog do it right than screw the pooch and everyone ends up with a memorably bad launch to one of the biggest franchises on the PlayStation platform.
