Today EA revealed that they're going to release an iOS game called Mass Effect Infiltrator soon. This mobile game will provide you with bonuses for the upcoming Mass Effect 3.
According to Shacknews, Infiltrator is a third-person shooter. Players work to free prisoners from Cerberus, the fanatical humanity-first organization that plays a prominent role in the series. During your rescue mission, you can also snatch evidence of Cerberus' wrongdoings. The game will unlock exclusive weapons for Mass Effect 3 and also boost your Galactic Readiness in the game.
In Mass Effect 3, the genocidal Reapers have attacked Earth. It falls to Commander Shepard and his team to rally allies and strike back at these invaders. The quality of the campaign's ending will be determined by your Galactic Readiness level. Playing the campaign and standalone co-op missions will raise this Readiness as well.
If you don't have an interest in multiplayer or mobile apps, though, don't fret. Playing them to increase Galactic Readiness is completely optional. You can attain the best ending in the single-player campaign without playing either.
No release date was provided for Mass Effect Infiltrator. ME3 will be out in early March, though, so I imagine Infilitrator will be released between now and then.
