NYCC: X-Men Arcade Game Coming To PS3 And Xbox 360

After an 18-year hiatus, the classic X-Men arcade game is making its comeback. At New York Comic Con, Konami announced plans to bring the side-scrolling beat 'em up to Xbox Live Arcade and PSN.

The game allows you and friends to play as six X-Men: Cyclops, Colossus, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Dazzler. Together, you battle through Sentinels and many supervillains from the comics, such as Juggernaut and Wendigo. Eventually you'll get a chance to fight Magneto himself.

The PSN/XBLA remake will allow for six-player, "drop in" online multiplayer. The trailer also mentions scalable difficulty and "custom matchups." The latter feature isn't explained but presumably you can design your own standalone fights.

Having invested many Chuck E. Cheese tokens on this game in my childhood, I heartily support this re-release. Did they really need to keep Dazzler in the game, though? I understand the desire to stay true to the original game, but let's be realistic: Dazzler sucks. Psylocke would be a way better addition to the team.
