Is Sony Teasing A New Crash Bandicoot Game?
A couple days ago, Sony Middle East tweeted something very, very suspicious. It was the picture of what seems to be a new Crash Bandicoot character with the comment, “Most Wanted Person...where are you Crash?” You can view the Tweet below.
The internet erupted with speculation that Sony was hinting towards the return of the beloved video game character.
While a range of emotions are surging through the internet right now circulating around the Tweet, everyone can’t help but wonder if this is just another huge dick move from Sony. Last Fall during the PlayStation Experience, Sony’s Shawn Layden walked onto stage wearing a Crash Bandicoot t-shirt and the crowd just erupted with applause thinking this was the moment a new Crash Bandicoot game would finally be announced. But alas, it was just a tease. So obviously, this Tweet wouldn’t be the first time Sony has messed around with the sensitive emotions of nostalgic-stricken Crash fans.
But what exactly is this Tweet supposed to mean, if anything? Why Tweet this now? Or coming from a social media perspective, is this just a cheap way to generate easy engagement through the topic of the mysterious Crash Bandicoot? We can speculate on possible reasons all night, but really all we can do is wait. And we could be waiting for a very long time.
