Super Smash Bros. Wii U, 3DS Character Roster Leaked

A new leak has gone viral concerning the alleged complete roster for Super Smash Bros. on the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. The roster list and some of the images showcase some of what gamers can expect from the upcoming fighting title from Nintendo.

GameSpot spotted a detailed thread over on NeoGaf that rolled out all sorts of amazing information on the characters, mods and even some videos of the leak. However, Nintendo quickly swooped in and filed copyright claims on the YouTube videos, effectively having them shutdown.

Nevertheless, a complete list of the characters and some of the unconfirmed characters planned for release were made public. Some of the characters that have been possibly leaked from the event are as follows:

* Doctor Mario

* Dark Pit

* Alph (as one of Olimar's costumes)

* Shulk (from Xenoblade Chronicles)

* Bowser Jr.

* Ness (from Earthbound)

* The Dog from Duck Hunt

* Mr. Game & Watch

* ROB

* Wario

Very interesting to see some returning faces from Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Wii. Doctor Marrio seems like an odd choice, but whatever. Shulk is a nice addition, and seeing the return of Mr. Game & Watch isn't too surprising, neither is ROB. It's completely shocking seeing the dog from Duck Hunt make the cut, though. It's a classic game for sure, but... um... I don't think he would make for that great a smasher. Then again, who knows? I never would have thought the Ice Climbers could have carried some players so far into the finals of the Evo Championships.

What some people might find a bit shocking are the characters who aren't yet confirmed to make the cut. Check out the list below.

* Snake (Metal Gear)

* Lucas (Earthbound)

* Ice Climbers (Ice Climbers)

* Wolf (Star Fox)

Speaking of the Ice Climbers, it's interesting to note that they aren't yet in the game. I'm sure many of the gamers who play on the competitive scene would probably have a heart attack not seeing the Ice Climbers in the upcoming game.

There's also tons of images that have leaked of the game's Trophies that you can view over on Imgur.

A lot of this hasn't come for free, though. It's being reported by GoNintendo that Nintendo of America has allegedly identified who the leaker is and has fired and sued the individual. It hasn't been confirmed yet, but this is what's being reported at the moment.

Additionally, previous leaks for games have received some rather unfavorable feedback from developers, with Halo 5's director chastising leakers and calling it illegal.

Earlier this year it was also rumored that Microsoft had pursued legal action against an employee who leaked the Halo 2: Anniversary Edition and Titanfall bundle.

It just goes to show you that this leaking business is serious business, and anyone caught doing it could face some stiff penalties from the companies they work for. Of course, in the end, they still have to ask themselves if it was worth the risk in the first place?
