Weekly Recap: Nintendo NX Console Announced And 5 Other Massive Stories
This was a massive week in gaming news. There was all sorts of crazy things happening, from Paula Deen's video game making waves early on in the week, to Nintendo dropping bombs about their new NX console device, the latter of which won't be detailed until 2016, sadly. The Big 'N' also announced a mobile deal with DeNA, however, we have no idea what the deal entails and what it'll mean for the future of Nintendo software and hardware.
Even still, there was a big surprise in the fact that Hideo Kojima and Konami are parting ways after Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. And Sony has officially launched the PlayStation TV service. As I said, there's a lot of big news stories in this March 21st, 2015 edition of the Gaming Blend Weekly Recap.
Paula Deen Has A Video Game
Well it looks like everyone is getting their own game these days, including the butter-nymph known as Paula Deen. Some of the best selling games of February on PSN were detailed. The entire GTA V city of Los Santos was recreated in Cities: Skylines. Goat Simulator is coming to the Xbox 360 and Xbox One this April. The creator of Mega Man recently had his game cancelled by a publisher. Rockstar recently issued a patch that finally stabilizes GTA V. The Oculus Rift could be delayed for improvements but that's highly unlikely. Check out the line-up of games that launched this week for PSN. Here are the awards handed out to games during SXSW. The first screenshots for new Banjo Kazooie spiritual successor has arrived. And Steam has managed to break another record, check it out right here.
Star Wars Characters Were In Kingdom Hearts
Yes, you read that right... Star Wars characters were featured in Kingdom Hearts, but that particular game got cancelled. Some of the new features set to arrive for H1Z1 are detailed in a brief developer Q&A with the community. The Walking Dead's third season is coming... we just don't know when. League of Legends heroes have been recreated in Minecraft. Descent is making a return to form on the Unreal Engine 4 and via Kickstarter. Hawken has made a comeback thanks to APB: Reloaded's developers. And unofficial Windows XP support has been added to Hotline Miami 2.

Nintendo has announced that they're working on their new console and it's codenamed the “NX”. Get your first details on the console right here. Joe Montana's football game is coming and it's running on the Unreal Engine 4. Dragon Ball Xenoverse managed to sell a heck of a lot more than you may have thought. SlingTV has joined the Xbox One and you won't need traditional cable boxes anymore. The Elder Scrolls has finally gotten rid of its subscription fees. Nintendo will make a foray into mobile gaming but the details are a bit sparse. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD has finally launched with the demo for Final Fantasy XV. PSTV Officially Launches
More big news this week as the PlayStation TV officially launched. Valve made some changes to the Steam user agreement to include disclosure policies for Steam Curators and Broadcasters. The Nintendo NX is currently available for pre-order. Check out this hilarious Easter egg for Battlefield Hardline. Square Enix is working on a mysterious new JRPG for home consoles and details are coming soon. And more Battlefield Hardline news involves Microsoft getting hit by a DDOS attack. Windows 10 gets a more narrowed release window and it's this summer. The beta for StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void is coming this month. Warframe's Stolen Dreams update has gone live.
Kojima Could Be Leaving Konami
This news rocked the gaming nation... but Hideo Kojima, maker of the highly popular Metal Gear Solid, could be leaving Konami. Here are some of the new options Bungie is adding to Destiny in the latest patch. Star Wars: Battlefront will be showcased for the first time in April. Check out the weapon customization in Bloodborne. Here are some games that are way too hard for newbies but they're great anyway. This father's credit card was charged for $4,500 because of FIFA microtransactions. Here are some of the characters that may have popped up in the Pixels trailer... check it out here. Predator Officially Joins Mortal Kombat X
The most badass galactic hunter this side of the universe is joining Mortal Kombat X, no I'm not talking about Samus Aran, I'm talking about the Predator, but it would be pretty cool if she did join. God of War III for the PS4 is coming back as a remastered edition. If you live in Denmark you can get a free copy of Bloodborne... if you donate some blood. Konami will continue the Metal Gear Solid series even after Hideo Kojima leaves. Final Fantasy XI is coming to mobile devices in 2016.
