WiiWare Lands In America WiiWare, a service offering small budget games to Wii owners over the Internet, debuted in the States on Monday. Nintendo's answer to the originals on Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Store launched with six titles from publishers both small and large.

WiiWare games are purchased through a new section of the Wii Shop Channel. New titles will be added on Mondays. Here's a rundown of the launch titles:

Defend Your Castle, XGen Studios - 500 Wii Points - Arcade-style game where you defend a castle from waves of invaders with a variety of weapons and spells. You can also throw them in the air and watch them go splat. Supports four player cooperative multiplayer.
BR> FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES: My Life as a King, Square Enix - 1500 Wii Points - Players build their own kingdom in a fantasy realm. Takes place after the events of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for Gamecube. Will eventually feature additional downloadable content such as new constructible buildings and character costumes.

LostWinds, Frontier Development - 1,000 Wii Points - 2D platform game where players use the power of the wind (via their Wii remote) to help the hero Toku solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Frontier announced on Tuesday that they're already planning a sequel.

Pop, Nnooo - 700 Wii Points - Players click on bubbles that float up the screen to pop them to add time to the clock. Popping bubbles in quick succession gives bonus points. The game supports competitive multiplayer for up to four people.

TV Show King, Gameloft - 1,000 Wii Points - A quiz show with over 3,000 questions. Four player multiplayer, naturally - what's the point of testing your brain if you can't demean someone else at the same time?

V.I.P. Casino: Blackjack, High Voltage Software - 700 Wii Points - Players can experience casino blackjack without getting their thumbs broken by a loan shark - hurray! Hold your own blackjack tournament with three friends.
