Metallica Considers Future Internet Only Releases

Oh how ten years can alter ones perceptions. Crusader against Napster and ardent art enthusiast Lars Ulrich has taken pause to consider Metallicas future. The drummer has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for the new album, Death Magnetic, but its release also marks the end of the bands record contract, which opens up a gander of options.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Ulrich said, We have that element of complete freedom with the next album, so we can do whatever we want. We can do an internet thing. Dont get too excited, though. The always outspoken Ulrich went on to tell fans not to hold their breath for a new record anytime soon. If we spit one out every four or five years, thats not so bad. Ill wait five years for another Death Magnetic or even better Master Of Puppets, but I wont wait a week for Loaded: Round Three. RELATED: metallica, lars ulrich
