Everything Rick Rubin touches seems to turn gold. He produced Metallicas new record, which is easily the best thing theyve done in a decade. He was the mastermind behind Johnny Cashs late-career resurgence. And even though it happened twenty some years ago, he still deserves credit for resurrecting Aerosmiths career by partnering them with Run DMC. Unfortunately, U2 wasnt quite as on board with him as the rest of the world.
According to NME, the band has scrapped several tracks they worked on with Rubin earlier this year. Speaking about the song removals, The Edge said, We actually laid all that stuff to one said. Really out of deference for Rick and that set of songs we just said Okay, thats that. I wasnt in the recording sessions, and I havent heard the songs in question--but Im definitely on board with not redoing the songs with a different producer. When theres too many cooks, one of them always pees in the soup.
After the departure of Rubin, the band called in famed Talking Heads producer Brian Eno. Thankfully, he knows what hes doing.

Dude... Eno is probably known at this point more for his work with "U2", than Talking Heads.
See "The Unforgettable Fire" 1984, "The Joshua Tree" 1987, "Achtung Baby" 1991... not to mention the work he did with U2 on a few tracks on the last two albums or even the "Passengers" in 1995 with U2. C'mon... there's more to Eno than Talking Heads... He's the undeclared 5th member of U2. A person reading your article may think this is the first time U2 has worked with him.
If the article was about "Talking Heads", then I could see mentioning Brian Eno as "known for his work with U2". (but not the other way around, like you have)
Oh yeah, and "Rubin" isn't what you make him out to be either. Metallica... Aerosmith-DMC? Good night.
