Flea a.k.a. Michael Balzary lost one of two multi-million dollar homes in a second round of Malibu wild fires in a little over one month. The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist texted aLos Angeles Times reporter that his house had “burnt to a crisp” Saturday morning.
The property was listed for sale at $4.8 million and is described as being a French country-style mansion set on 2.4 acres that Flea uses as a rental. He lives in another home in the area – a $10 million dollar mansion – that was left unharmed. The fire, which should be fully contained by Tuesday, destroyed 53 homes and 4,720 acres over the weekend. So far officials say the fire was caused by "human activity" but it is unclear if it was intentional or by mistake.
Another musician also said to be affected is Guns N’ Roses front man Axl Rose who reportedly fought to save his home along with his assistant Beta Lebeis, who also lives on his property. Rose’s home is said to still be standing, despite a scorched roof.
