Hold on now. Don’t get your knickers in a twist. It’s not what you think. The word about town is that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are set to record a duet for Brit’s follow-up to last year’s Blackout.
According to PageSix, The New York Times’ gossip column, the pair were allegedly supposed to team up for Ms. Spears’ latest release; however, due to what we’ll tamely cite as “unforeseen circumstances”, the pop-tart missed her recording date with super producer Timabland.
For those not in the know for the past decade, Spears and Timberlake met on the set of the New Mickey Mouse Club—one of my favourites, I’m not even gonna lie—and decided to give a relationship a shot. They were a hot item for four years before their eventual split in 2002. Now Timberlake has his arms locked around Jessica Biel after his split with ex-fiancé Cameron Diaz, and Spears…well, we all know she’s been trying her best to get back on her feet. Maybe the two need each other after all. Spears has shown that she’s not exactly a professional in the picking husbands arena and Justin just can’t keep his hands away from blonde girls—a match made in Hollywood tabloid heaven, if you ask me.
