Alice Eve In Talks To Play Emma Frost In X-Men: First Class

The cast of Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class is slowly coming together. Since the initial announcement that James McAvoy would play a young Professor X, Michael Fassbender and Benjamin Walker have joined the cast as Magneto and Beast, respectively, with Amber Heard up for the role Mystique. For a while, Rosamund Pike was rumored as the choice to play Emma Frost, but it was more recently revealed that she would be playing the role of Moira MacTaggert. So who will step into the role of the White Queen?

THR is reporting that She's Out Of My League star Alice Eve is currently in negotiations for the part. Initially a villain in the X-Men universe, the character has the ability to turn her skin into diamond and is telepathic. The character has previously appeared in the film series, played by Tahyna Tozzi in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The role is the second comic book character that the actress has been up for in the last few months, originally on the shortlist to play Peggy Carter in next summer's Captain America: The First Avenger, though the part eventually went to Hayley Atwell.

Though none of the films in which she has had major roles have done particularly well in the box office, her stock is quickly rising. And why shouldn't it? She's beautiful, she's blonde, she's British, she isn't a terrible actress, and she seems to have an interest in comic books. What's not to love?
