Batman V Superman Has A Plot Synopsis That You Probably Could Have Written
At the moment, there aren’t a ton of details readily available for the plot of Zach Snyder’s upcoming superhero flick Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. A new plot synopsis from the Warner Bros./DC Comics movie has come out, and while it certainly is ominous, it doesn’t tell you much you don’t already know.
The Licensing Expo is getting ready to kick off in Las Vegas, and you can bet we’ll start seeing all kinds of things from big upcoming movies. And it looks like things are kicking off with this description of Dawn of Justice that ComicBook.com came across and that you probably could have written yourself.
This basically reaffirms what the title already tells us, that the Caped Crusader (Ben Affleck) and the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill) will come to blows. The description also ties in to what we saw in the first teaser trailer for Dawn of Justice, which dropped a while back. In that footage we saw some of the public backlash against Superman, including a toppled statue of the Kryptonian with the words "false god" written on it in red spray paint. We’re curious to see how things get to this point, especially how Superman climbs into this position as a "god-like" figure. Is it a status that he actively cultivates, exploiting the human tendency for hero worship, or is it something thrust upon him by that same impulse? We do love to build up idols only to tear them down and watch them crumble.
The most interesting part of this new synopsis, however, is the latter portion, about the new threat coming in and what that means. We obviously know that Supes and Bats aren’t likely to kill each other off in this movie. DC and WB have too much planned to off their most bankable assets, and if we were gamblers, we’d bet that this new menace compels the battling superheroes to set aside their differences and work together for the greater good. We could be wrong, but that’s our theory.
What this threat is remains to be seen. It could have something to do with Lex Luthor, but the extent of the danger has to make you wonder if this could be Doomsday, which is a rumor that has been kicking around for a while. His presence would certainly qualify as "putting mankind in greater danger," and would be incredible to see blasted across a movie screen. We’re also curious to see how Wonder Woman (Gal Godot) figures into all of this.
Essentially, we know just about as much now as we did before reading this synopsis. They certainly kept the mystery intact. What it does well, however, is make us really, really want to watch this movie (as if we weren’t already foaming at the mouth for this one). Unfortunately, we won’t have the chance to see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice until March 25, 2016, but that just gives us a lot of time to get even more excited.
