Ben Affleck's Batman Costume Showcased At San Diego Comic-Con

The show floor of San Diego Comic-Con is always packed with all kinds of cool stuff. Various dealers and booths have all kinds of cool comics, toys and gadgets for fans to buy, and big companies and studios pack their booths with special display cases and presentations. There's always something to see, and this year one of those things was the brand new Batman costume that will be worn by Ben Affleck in the upcoming blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Caped Crusader, and as a special treat, DC Comics put a bunch of Batman movie costumes on the floor of Comic-Con, including the most recent design created for Zack Snyder's huge upcoming film. While it's somewhat hard to identify the design without the actual suit underneath it, you can tell that this is the cape and cowl of the new design by looking at the ears, the "eyebrows," and the shape of the area by the neck where the black cloak connects with the rest of the costume. For comparison purposes, you can look at the official photo of the Batsuit that was posted online back in May:

Batman vs Superman Batman Costume

The only really disappointing thing about this reveal is that we still really don't know what the color of the new Batman vs. Superman batsuit is. We obviously kind of figured that the cape and cowl were going to be black, but there has been a good amount of debate about the rest of the design. Director Kevin Smith has gone on record saying that the costume is actually grey instead of black - different than any big screen Dark Knight we've ever seen - but nothing has been confirmed, and obviously this display doesn't really settle anything.

This is only the start of San Diego Comic-Con, and there is a very good chance that this won't be the last we see of Batman during the event. Warner Bros. is set to have their big Hall H presentation on Saturday morning, and while nothing is officially on the docket, there are those who are predicting that the panel will feature not only footage from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but also announcements regarding the future of DC Comics heroes at the movies. We here at Cinema Blend will be on the ground for the entire week covering everything that continues to come out of the convention, so stay tuned!

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in theaters May 4, 2016.
