Quentin Tarantino decided on a large part Inglorious Bastards cast today. No more bit player trickle. As expected, Brad Pitt has closed his deal to star in the film as the leader of the titular Bastards, a Tennessee hillbilly who puts the group together and leads them in Nazi killing.
With Pitt locked up they’re now working on the rest of the cast. Variety says Simon Pegg and David Krumholtz are now in talks to join the cast along with B.J. Novak, whom we told you about yesterday. Notice anything strange about those names? They all have comedy backgrounds. What’s QT up to? They’re all slated to be members of the Inglorious Bastards commando team, being led by Brad Pitt. Pegg would be his second command, a brash lieutenant, while Krumholtz plays a random underling. They’re also in the process of figuring out the movie’s only female lead. Not just the female lead, if you’ve read that script which has been floating around then you know she’s also really the lead role in the entire film. A German born actress named Nastassja Kinski is supposed to be in talks for the part, which would have her playing a Jewish girl hiding out from the Nazi’s Jew Hunter, Col. Landa, in an old movie theater. The last and only previous time Brad Pitt had a Tarantino script to work with, he ended up stoned on Christian Slater’s couch. This time, he’ll be smoking Nazis instead of a bong.
