Freak-Out Time: New Moon Hits DVD On March 20th
Any teenage girls in the room with you? If not, it’s safe to continue reading. Summit Entertainment has announced plans to release a two-disc special edition DVD and special edition Blu-ray of New Moon on March 20th.
Things seem to be working out between Edward and Bella (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart), but after realizing the threat they pose to Bella’s safety, the Cullens decide to leave Forks permanently. Alone and confused, Bella falls into the arms of her old friend Jacob (Taylor Lautner). Little does she know he’s in a hairy situation of his own.
There’s nothing I can do to stop any Edward-loving fan from buying the film, so there’s no point in discussing my disappointment with New Moon. Then again, my appreciation for Twilight grew after multiple viewings, so perhaps the same could happen here.
The DVD will cost you $32.99 and the BD $34.99, but both come packed with bonus material. MTV’s Hollywood Crush reports that there will be a six-part, behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of the movie, rehearsal footage from Muse, three music videos from Death Cab for Cutie, Anya Marina and Mute Math, commentary by director Chris Weitz and editor Peter Lambert, 20 minutes of deleted scenes ‘and more!’ New Moon has been given a Saturday release date so, like its predecessor, superfans can party at retailers across the country before taking home their copy of the movie at 12:01am.
