Christian Bale Hunts Johnny Depp In Public Enemies
Here’s something that might shock the hell out of some of you Batman fans: Christian Bale is in other movies. Even more shocking… they’re a lot better than anything about a guy named after a flying rat. I’m not just talking 3:10 to Yuma here. Come on, I can’t be the only one who saw Rescue Dawn. Viciously awesome movie, nearly as awesome as Bale who seems to be nails every time he walks on screen.
Any time you see Christian Bale’s name attached to a project, it’s your responsibility to be excited, and then to get up off your ass and buy a ticket to see it once whatever it is shows up in theaters. So get your “I Heart Xtian Bale” foam fingers out and ready, because he’s just been attached to another project. While you’re at it, grab your “Depp Crazy” pirate pennants too because the movie is called Public Enemies, and Bale will be starring opposite the nearly as great Johnny Depp.
The movie is an adaptation of a book about the government’s attempt to stop organized crime in the 30s and 40s. Apparently mobsters are to blame for the FBI, because the book is called “Public Enemies: America’s Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI.” HR says Bale will play FBI lead agent Melvin Purvis, the guy who once famously said “”Stick em’ up Johnny!” when he caught up with crime boss John Dillinger in Chicago. Dillinger meanwhile, will be played by Johnny Depp. First though, Bale is still playing John Connor in that fourth Terminator movie. After that, he’ll be back… on a set shooting Public Enemies.
