Christina Applegate Confirmed For Anchorman 2

I'm 72% sure I love this news. Last month, NBC offered some good news for the Christina Applegate starring comedy series Up All Night when the Peacock renewed the comedy for a second season. While that's good news for Applegate (and Will Arnett) fans, what does that mean as far as her involvement in Anchorman 2? Apparently, it won't be an issue as she's confirmed to appear in the film.

In an ideal world, Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy and Christina Applegate's Veronica Corningstone will have gotten married on top of a mountain, with flutes and trombones playing, and flowers, garlands and fresh herbs setting the scene. They will have danced until the sun rose and their kids would have formed a family band that tours the countryside ("…and you won't be invited.") That may or many not have been the fate of these two news anchors, though something tells me things worked out a bit differently than Ron once envisioned. We'll find out eventually when Anchorman 2 makes its way into theaters. From what David Koechner told E! recently, they're still writing the script for the followup to the 2004 comedy.

Koechner also happened to reveal confirmation that Christina Applegate was signed on for Anchorman 2. This news was confirmed by Celebuzz, who got the thumbs up from Applegate's rep on the matter. So, despite the fact that she doesn't appear among the cast featured in the all-too-brief teaser, rest assured that she will be back. It's a good thing too. Someone has to be around to keep Burgundy's ego in check and correct him on his historical inaccuracies.

Ron: Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Veronica: No, there's no way that's correct.
