Chuck Norris Isn't Coming Back For The Expendables 3

The Expendables 2 hadn’t even reached theaters before we started speculating on who might join the testosterone-soaked fun for The Expendables 3. Granted, neither Lionsgate nor Sylvester Stallone have even mentioned the possibility of a third Expendables, but with the second sequel opening to $28.5M last weekend, the possibility of that third film has increased.

However, if the gang is getting back together for more bullet-riddled action, you can count one of the new cast members out. Chuck Norris talked to Access Hollywood on the red carpet for Expendables 2 and admitted, “This is it for me.” Listen for yourself.

And why not? I think we can all agree that one trip with The Expendables is enough. Kudos to Norris for realizing that once is enough, and not feeling greedy about dipping back into the action well to squeeze a few more dollars out of the audiences’ pocket.

That doesn’t mean, however that there won’t be plenty more action stars dying for a shot at Expendables fame and fortune if a third is actually greenlit. Nicolas Cage is heavily rumored for a sequel, while Harrison Ford and Clint Eastwood reportedly are on the Wish List. We might even see a female Expendables, if fans get their wish. But what we won’t see again is Chuck Norris in the mix. Bid him farewell.
