Yesterday we brought you word of animation director Brad Bird’s future foray into live action. Today we have news on live action director Wes Anderson’s upcoming, stop-motion animated movie. It’s called The Fantastic Mr. Fox, and it’s been in the works for awhile now, but Wes is just getting to casting his characters’ voices.
The Hollywood Reporter says he’s negotiating with George Clooney and Cate Blanchett to provide voices for his lead characters. The movie is an adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl children’s book “Mr. Fox”, the story of a clever fox outwitting dimwitted farmers. If things work out, Clooney will be Mr. Fox and Blanchett will be Mrs. Fox.
Before he can get The Fantastic Mr. Fox out, Anderson has to finish The Darjeeling Limited, a live action movie he’s working on for Fox Searchlight right now.
