Amy Adams was nominated for an Oscar for her role in 2005’s Junebug. Most of us, though, know her as the “Hot Girl” and Jim’s main squeeze in the first two seasons of The Office. I always thought Jim made a mistake by dumping her on the booze cruise, but she seems to have turned out ok. In a few weeks, Amy will play an animated princess banished from the her fairy land into the real world of Manhattan in the Disney musical Enchanted.
Despite the often spotty Disney track record recently, especially in the live action realm, this movie is generating some good advanced buzz. So good, in fact, that according to FirstShowing.net Disney wants to turn it into a film franchise. That’s right, another film company is already planning sequels before the first movie is released to theaters. Takes a bold company to do something like that….wait, is bold the right word?
This information was brought out at a ShoEast presentation. It’s not some rumor or alleged inside info, it was stated straight out in public. So Disney must really think they have a blockbuster on their hands. Everything about the film, except that Grey’s Anatomy turd, looks great. Hopefully it is, since it sounds like we will be getting a steady diet for years to come.
