Rumors have swirled for the past couple weeks that secret agent RPG Alpha Protocol was delayed until next year. Today Sega finally confirmed that it's true.
The official AP website now states that the game will arrive on the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360 in "Spring 2010". The dates are merely listed on the site's sidebar so there's no accompanying explanation. This is the second major delay for the game, the first pushing the game from February 2009 to this fall.
Releasing a new IP in a competitive holiday season is always challenging but this fall is less cutthroat than most considering all the other big delays. Guess Sega or Obsidian didn't think the game was up to snuff yet.
