The Expendables 2 Trailer Features Men With Guns

Those looking forward to the sequel to The Expendables will be pleased to know the trailer has arrived online. The video for the Simon West directed action movie doesn’t give much away about the plot, but it does offer a glimpse at the main cast, as well as a tense one-sided conversation between Church and Barney.

iTunes posted the trailer below, which begins with Church (Bruce Willis) reminding Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) that he owes him a favor. This is followed by quick shots at the all-star cast of action stars, which includes Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Liam Hemsworth, Jean Claude Van Damme, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Most of the characters are shown with a gun, although Jet Li’s only weapon is an icy stare. Chuck Norris isn’t actually holding his gun. He resourcefully uses a strap to hold his weapon, which leaves his hands free to dramatically remove his sunglasses. Randy Couture is also without a gun (either that, or we just can’t see it). And Van Damme has a knife... a big one.

The Expendables 2 releases in theaters August 17, 2012 and has Church bringing the Expendables together to handle a job that’s supposed to be easy but proves to be anything but. (What follows this is somewhat spoilery so read on at your own risk!). According to the description at iTunes, “...But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them.” This time, it’s personal, indeed.
