First Trailer For Oscar Nominated Film Bullhead
If you're weird like me, there's a distinct possibility that you are aiming to watch all of the films nominated for Academy Awards this year prior to the ceremony on Sunday, February 26th. But while you may be racing out to see Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close or going to your local store to pick up a copy of Moneyball, you shouldn't ignore the Best Foreign Language Film nominees. While it's sad that the movies in that category aren't available in all markets, it is regularly the source of some of the best movies of the year, even though they are put in a section all by themselves. One of the titles up for this year's award is Bullhead, a film from Belgium that premiered stateside at Fantastic Fest last fall to rave reviews. It will be arriving in theaters on February 17th, giving you some time to see it before the ceremony, and today, courtesy of Apple, we have the first trailer.
The film, written and directed by Michael R. Roskam, is about a young cattle farmer named Jacky Vanmarsenille (Matthias Schoenaerts) who is hooked on various steroids and hormones. But when Jacky gets pulled into a shady deal with a mafioso meat trader, suddenly the demons from his past start coming back to haunt him and he must find a way to overcome them. In addition to Fantastic Fest, Bullhead has played all around the globe, including the Berlin International Film Festival the Athens Film Festival, the Jerusalem Film Festival and AFI Fest.
