Four Oldies Cast In Horror Flick The Home
Most movies these days chronicle the generic and “drama” filled lives of good-looking, in-shape kids in their late teens or early-20s, finding ways to get unnecessarily sweaty and breathy when they talk. Not The Home, though. From rookie director Kristoffer Aaron Morgan and writer AICN alumni Eric Vespe (better known as Quint over there), The Home takes a haunted geriatric care facility and fills it with creepy crawlies. And I’m not just talking about the old folks.
Film School Rejects have it that four big time seniors have been added to the cast, and if it’s true, we might have something great on our hands. Ed Asner (Carl in Up), Louis Gossett Jr (Oscar winner for An Officer and a Gentlemen), Louise Fletcher (Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest), and finally Fionnula Flanagan (most recently found creeping up the last couple seasons of Lost) have all been added to the cast. With a fair amount of certainty it can be assumed that they’ll all play patients at the haunted facility and will somehow need to fight the baddies off, not unlike Bubba Ho-Tep.
The film is being produced by none other than Elijah Wood with concepts being put together by WETA, which in and of itself is exciting, but coupled with this stellar cast I think we may see a horror classic emerge soon, Wood hoping to shoot by the end of the year. Stay tuned for more details and cast additions as they develop.
