G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer Arrives Online
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is a bonafide action star. Sadly he's spent too many years making family-friendly comedies, but he's finally coming back to reclaim his birthright. It began with Faster last year and continued in excellent fashion with Fast Five a few months ago. Now he's ready to once again ready to kick some serious ass in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and today we have our first look at exactly what that entails.
Right on the heels of the trailer preview that was released this morning, Machinima has the internet premiere of the first trailer for the G.I. Joe sequel. Check it out below.
To be honest, it would have been a real challenge to make this movie look any worse than the Stephen Sommers offering from 2009, but this trailer is actually pretty damn awesome. They've made the really smart move of killing off just about the entire original cast and their replacements - actors like Johnson, Bruce Willis, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Stevenson, and Elodie Yung - look fantastic. Add the fact that the script was written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the scribes behind Zombieland, and we could be in for a real treat.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation is directed by Jon M. Chu and also stars Channing Tatum, Joseph Mazzello, Ray Park, Walton Goggins, Johnathan Pryce, Byung-hun Lee, RZA, and D.J. Cotrona. Look for the movie when it hits theaters on June 29, 2012.
