New Gangster Squad Trailer Prepares You For War
Gangster Squad won't be released in cinemas for another three months, but already its a movie that most people are aware of - and for the most unfortunate of reasons. During a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises this past summer in Aurora, Colorado a gunman opened fire on a theater and killed 12 people and injured 58 others. Because of a scene in the Ruben Fleischer directed period piece where a group of gangsters open fire at Grauman's Chinese Theater, Warner Bros. decided that it would be best if the scene were cut from the theatrical release. In order to make the edits, Gangster Squad had to be pushed back from its original release date on September 7th.
But now the marketing is kicking back into gear. Yesterday we got a brand new poster for the movie which came with the announcement that a new trailer would be released on October 11th. Well, check your calendar because it's Gangster Squad time. Check out the brand new theatrical preview below and see it in HD over on Apple.
Set in 1949 Los Angeles, the story begins with the mobster Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) arriving to town and setting up a west coast racket. In order to combat the growing crime wave of drugs, guns and prostitution, a group of LAPD officers decide that they have to go above the law in order to save their city. BR>
The stacked cast includes Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Nick Nolte, Robert Patrick, Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Mackie, and Emma Stone. Gangster Squad will be in theaters on January 11th and to learn more about the movie head over to our Blend Film Database.
