Hermione's Breast Reduction

By Josh Tyler: 2007-05-02 13:41:37
Hermione's Breast Reduction Hollywood has a long history of enhancing body parts. I’m not talking plastic surgery here, I mean photoshop. There was the whole controversy over Brandon Routh’s crotch for instance. Rumor had it that what he was packing was so big, that his bulge was digitally reduced in the film. Or going even further back, there was a controversy over Denise Richards’ ghetto booty in the posters for Undercover Brother, which she claimed wasn’t hers. So using photoshop to increase or decrease the size of sex organs is nothing new for the movie industry, but this is the first time I can ever remember them doing it to a minor.

Taking their photoshop skills to creepy new levels, it seems Warner Brothers has digitally reduced the size of 17-year-old Emma Watson’s breasts in the theatrical poster for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Our friends over at Poster Wire have done a side by side comparison of the new Potter 5 theatrical and IMAX posters and found the disturbing difference between them. It seems that in the IMAX version, Hermione has undergone a growth spurt. The IMAX poster was the released first, so it seems likely that after it came out WB decided they weren’t happy with having that much pre-teen cleavage on their one sheet and gave her a reduction for the official poster. The difference is subtle, but it’s there.

At least WB reduced them instead of sticking her in a school girl outfit and enhancing them. If they’d enhanced them, I think I might have thrown up. Even as it is, just reporting on this feels wrong on so many levels. I have to go take a few showers now.

  • Also, she might be a minor. But 17 is one year away from legal adult...pre-teen? I see your point, but it's a stupid point to make and your phrasing and word choice suggests that you have a seven-year-old write it for you. If you want to report the news, learn two lessons, report that which is newsworthy and report it in an intelligent fashion.
  • I personally can't even see any difference. And I fancy Emma and I am 22, lol. She's of age over here and even made the FHM Top 100 women.
  • I take the fact that you had enough time on your hands to post a comment completely unrelated to this story but indicating how some have too much time on our hands to in fact ratify the proof of your theory.

I applaud you sir on the successful appliance of science.

Now go forth and put such a sharp mind to more practical use.

Or at least a more constructive comment.
  • I take this story as proof that too many of us have just a litte too much time on our hands.
  • Dindi, I suppose that's possible it's just a bit more of a stretch. There's no evidence of it.
  • Yeah, I can see the studio execs fretting about how Emma's "giant boobs" were really blocking out so much of Neville's robe there and how they felt Neville's robe needed that massive amount of extra poster space to help sell tickets, ahahahahahahhaa.

Seriously now bettysue, go home and think about what you just said...
  • it might also be possible that they digitally enlarged them at first and then maybe decided to reduce them back to the original size for whatever reason....maybe?
  • Scuse me, please don't put words in my mouth.

I never called the WB "sick" for doing it.

You must have been reading something else.

And I don't think they actually changed her hair. If you look close, it looks more like they changed the lighting on her hair, not the hair itself.
  • I think they did it just to give Neville more room. You call WB sick for doing it, yet you're the one that has it as headline news. If you noticed, they also changed her hair. get over it.
