If you’re planning to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull tomorrow, you might want to consider buying your tickets right now. Tickets for Indy’s fourth outing are disappearing fast.
MovieTickets.com reports that the film has accounted for 77% of the tickets sold on their site today. What’s more, the rate at which they’re being snatched up is accelerating rapidly. They say the volume of pre-sold tickets being bought from their site has tripled from Sunday through Monday.
Nobody seems entirely certain how much money this thing will make, but what is certain is that it’s going to be big and theaters are going to be packed. It’s Indiana Jones, success was guaranteed, and it probably doesn’t hurt that it’s getting mostly positive reviews as well.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull currently has a 77% “Fresh” rating at RottenTomatoes. Though admittedly, many of those fresh reviews, much like mine posted earlier this week here come with a few caveats, the overall response has been positive. When you consider that next week’s big release Sex and the City: The Movie is so far receiving a critical lashing, Indy 4 seems poised to knock out the competition, and stay on top for at least the next couple of weeks.
