San Diego Comic-con attendees got a special glimpse of Jon Favreau’s upcoming Iron Man this year – a look that, at the time, was said to be a Comic-con exclusive. That exclusivity didn’t last for long, though, as Favreau himself has announced on his myspace blog that the footage will be brought to the internet shortly.
The motivation behind the change seems to be exactly what you’d expect it to be: the material is already available online, but it’s a grainy phone camera copy made by one of the attendees who wanted to share the material with the world. If it’s already out there in a grainy format, why not give fans the good stuff?
Favreau says the holdup is due to the size of the project. ”This is a big movie… and it takes time to get the proper approvals from all parties involved." No doubt this means not only getting clearance from Paramount, but from Marvel as well. Favreau says both have signed off on a version being put online, however, so expect to see it soon.
