James Gunn Made One Change To Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 After The Table Read
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become a well oiled machine at this point. Captain America: Civil War is putting the finishing touches on itself before it hits in May. Doctor Strange is currently filming. Finally, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is currently making sure that their script is ready to rock and roll. Director James Gunn informed fans that the cast went through the table read yesterday and the script was nearly perfect. Nearly.
Gunn says watching the table read was the most fun he’s ever had watching a reading happen, which is glowing praise for both the chemistry of the cast as well as the lines that they are speaking. One fan asked Gunn in a comment on Facebook if the director had made any changes based on the results of the script reading. It looks like he thought the script was close to perfect, as the changes were minor.
While the writer doesn’t elaborate on what line he changed, if it was literally only one line it can’t be much. A joke that didn’t quite land as he’d hoped or something that just came across differently when spoken than it did on the page. Ultimately what the lack of any major changes means is that there should not be any significant delays in filming. We know the plan was for the movie to start shooting this spring, so now it looks like that will go ahead, meaning that we’ll see the movie in the summer of 2017 as expected.
To be fair, however, while James Gunn apparently only made one change to the script, he did make one other change at the table read itself. Apparently, he was upset that somebody’s name was spelled wrong, and took it upon himself to fix the problem.
We know what the difference between a Pratt and a prat is, and whether Chris Pratt is a prat is something only those who know him would be able to judge. We’re not quite sure what a Qris is. We suppose it would have a mostly similar pronunciation to his actual first name. If there’s anything more to this than good fun, we assume you guys will read everything into it for us. Give us your best read.
