It looks like Jason Vorhees is piling up the bodies for the new Friday the 13th remake from Platinum Dunes. The Marcus Nispel directed cast already includes Jarad Padalecki, Derek Mears, Amanda Righetti, and Nana Vistor (among others). Chopping up campers requires a large supply, however, so more names are being added to the pile.
The farcical version of Spider-Man’s Flash Thompson, Superhero Movie’s Ryan Hansen, is allegedly joining the cast of Friday the 13th. Hansen is probably better known as Dick Casablancas on Veronica Mars. The news comes from this blogger, who ran into Hansen at a premiere for Forgetting Sarah Marshall. To be honest, however, I’ve never seen that blog before, but when Bloody-Disgusting reports on horror news I have the tendency to buy into it, however unknown the source.
Honestly, I haven’t seen enough of Hansen to decide if this is good or not. Besides, it’s likely he’ll be fodder for the axe… or machete… or whatever instrument of death is nearby, so this isn’t likely to be a career making role anyway… although this kind of role did wonders for Corey Feldman the first time around.. right?
