Michael Cera has finally quit pouting and agreed to get back behind the banana stand for an Arrested Development movie. Word was that Cera was the one holdout from the original cast of the television show, but eonline reports that he has at last given in and agreed to do it.
With Cera in that should mean this thing is a go, and on the fast track. Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, Jessica Walter, Jeffrey Tambor, and David Cross are all supposed to be set to reprise their Bluth family roles. And aside from Cera, it’s a project that everyone else involved has seemed more than enthusiastic to get done. As recently as this past weekend on the red carpet during the Oscars, show exec producer Ron Howard hinted that the movie was very close to happening. Eonline’s sources say they may start shooting the film before the end of the year, which means we can look for the first ever Arrested Development movie in theaters some time in 2010.
