Bad News If You Were Hoping To See Charlie Cox's Daredevil In A Marvel Movie Anytime Soon

With so many Marvel heroes making appearances in the new Captain America: Civil War, it’s amazing that anybody was left out. And yet, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe expands beyond the big screen and onto the small one, there are several Marvel characters that we would still love to see team up with the Avengers. The first of these is Daredevil, as his series blazed the trail of success that the MCU has seen on Netflix. Unfortunately, Charlie Cox is saying that there has never been so much as a hint that he might be in a movie one day.

Charlie Cox was in attendance at a Netflix event in Paris when he was asked the question that has come up several times before about him possibly making the jump to the big screen. While Cox said that he would love to be part of the franchise, CNET quoted the actor as saying that even the idea has simply never come up.

There was no conversation about joining any of the movies.

While Charlie Cox’s comments echo everything that we’ve heard before from those on the television side of the MCU, that nobody has any plans, to bring characters from Netflix series over to the movies, it’s no less disheartening to hear this. There have been little glimmers of hope from a few places that have believed that a movie TV crossover would eventually happen. We know that the business side of making it happen isn’t the easiest thing in the world, but that’s exactly why we would have hoped that simple conversations may have already happened. Because, for the crossover to ever happen one day, there will need to be serious discussions between the two sides of Marvel Studios. It’s unlikely that such a deal can be made quickly. This means that if it ever does happen, we’ll likely at least hear rumors of it before any deal is made.

Charlie Cox isn’t the only one ready to make the jump to the movies if that door is ever opened. Krysten Ritter, who plays Jessica Jones, has also expressed interest vocally in being part of the MCU’s movie world. One would assume that the rest of the Defenders team feels the same way. As Cox says, the Avengers movie franchise created some of the highest grossing movies ever made. What actor wouldn’t want to be part of that?

While bringing the two sides of Marvel Studios together doesn’t appear to be something that the studio is itching to do, it’s high on the wish list for many fans. Hopefully the fan interest will eventually convince the powers that be, that pulling the trigger on a massive Marvel crossover will only be a benefit for them. How badly do you want to see Daredevil join the Avengers?
