The Muppets...Again Adds Inglourious Basterds' Til Schweiger

If there's a Muppet movie in development, that means that big celebrity cameos are in the works. It's been a part of the Muppet legacy for the franchise's entire existence, and continued in 2011 when The Muppets featured great names like Neil Patrick Harris, Alan Arkin, Donald Glover, Emily Blunt, Zach Galifianakis, Sarah Silverman, Mickey Rooney, Ken Jeong, Jim Parsons, Jack Black, and many, many more. Now The Muppets...Again is in production and it sounds as though the formula hasn't changed much. Yes, the film is set to feature Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, and Ty Burrell as the main human characters and there has been talk about Christoph Waltz and Ray Liotta making appearances, but now it seems another actor has found his way into the Jim Henson-created world.

Bleeding Cool has picked up on Tweets from British actress Fleur Poad who claims that while working on the set of the new Muppet movie she had a chance encounter with German star Til Schweiger, who apparently is filming a part in the movie. After a couple of messages about being on the set and seeing Kermit for the first time, Pond wrote, "How curious- so Till Schweiger is on set too and just ordered food next to me... Well well all the Germans here."

Obviously there isn't any evidence to support the thought, but I would love to see director James Bobin pair up Schweiger and Waltz for a tiny Ingloruious Basterds reunion. Too much to ask?

The Muppets...Again will be in theaters next March and you can see more from the movie in our Blend Film Database.
