Chan-wook Park's debut English language film Stoker won't be in theaters until early next year, but already the South Korean director is developing new Hollywood projects for the future. The filmmaker has been hired to helm Corsica 72, a new crime drama set up by Ruby Films and 1984 Private Defense Contractors.

The script was written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade who are best known for their contributions to the James Bond franchise, having a hand in writing The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace and the upcoming Skyfall (which is due out in November). The Corsica 72 screenplay was featured on the Black List, which is an annual list that celebrates the most popular unproduced screenplays in Hollywood. This is the second time that Park has dipped into the Black List pool as of late, having recently signed on to helm The Brigands of Rattleborge.

The based-on-a-true story film centers on two young best friends living in Corsica in 1972 (as you might of guessed) who go on to live divergent lives. As one becomes an upstanding business man, the other becomes a gangster, and they find their lives clash when they become interested in the same woman.

While Park's schedule isn't totally nailed down at this point, Corsica 72 is gaining a lot of steam according to Variety. No start date has been announced yet, but it is expected that Park will start work on the crime drama before the aforementioned Brigands of Rattleborge. Stoker will be released by Fox Searchlight Pictures on March 1, 2013.
