If you’ve heard about Tom Cruise’s next picture, Valkyrie, it probably hasn’t been good. The movie has been plagued with mishaps, from the German government’s public refusal of letting the movie film in key locations to injuries on set. You’ve even had protests from surviving family members of the real-life characters in the movie, pleading with Tom Cruise to “leave their father alone.” No, there hasn’t been a ton of good news surrounding the picture.
So how do you promote such a picture? Well, if you’re smart, you start off by downplaying Cruise’s involvement, which is exactly what the studio appears to have done. The UK Daily Mail has emerged with the first cast picture from the upcoming film, which depicts a team’s assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler during World War II, and they are really emphasizing the team effort behind this, with Cruise in a less prominent placement in the photo. Also starring in the film, and appearing in the picture, are Kenneth Branagh, Terrence Stamp, Bill Nighy, Kevin McNally, Christian Berkel, and David Schofield.
The tone of the picture really brings a Munich feeling to mind – a team working as one to eliminate a key target. Take a look at the image or head over to Daily Mail where they’ve laid out a nice who’s who of the characters within a bigger version of the photo.
