Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters Trailer Sends The Hero To The Bermuda Triangle

Looks like Percy Jackson and his pals are back and ready to try and help save the world from sure destruction once again.

As you can see above, Apple has released the second theatrical trailer for Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, and while a few things do look off in the trailer, I find it difficult to knock it too hard. The CGI doesn't look terribly impressive and the set up for the plot seems rather generic, but by the end of the preview I was laughing at the always-charismatic Nathan Fillion and thought the rapid-firing set pieces looked at the very least interesting. It also doesn't hurt to have a cast that also includes Stanley Tucci and Anthony Head.

Directed by Thor Freudenthal and based on the best-selling book series, the film catches up with the titular demigod (Logan Lerman) as he sets on on a mission with his friends (including Brandon T Jackson and Alexandra Daddario) to try and find the Golden Fleece in the Sea of Monsters - also known as The Bermuda Triangle. Sean Bean, Missi Pyle, Daniel Cudmore, Jake Abel, Levin Rambi, Derek Mears, Yvette Nicole Brown and Douglas Smith co-star.

The marketing for Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters is starting to ramp up, but we still have a few more weeks of big summer blockbusters like Man of Steel, Monsters University, The Lone Ranger and The Wolverine to see before it arrives in theaters. 20th Century Fox will have the new film in theaters on August 7th.
