Natalie Portman, who I’m back in lust with after her turn in the Wes Anderson, pre-Darjeeling short Hotel Chevalier, has signed up to do a movie with Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire. Variety says it’s a love triangle movie called Brothers.
The film is a drama from In America writer/director Jim Sheridan. In Brothers Tobey Maguire plays a man sent to fight in Afghanistan. While he’s gone, his black sheep brother (Gyllenhaal) is left to care for his wife (Portman) and child. Presumably he cares for her a little too well. Not cool man, not cool. But if Natalie is sporting her super-sexy short haircut again, well it’s understandable. Who could blame him? Natalie Portman’s next movie in theaters should be the rather awful looking Willy Wonka knockoff movie Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, so it’s nice to know she has something more original and interesting somewhere on the horizon.
