Prime Has Lips: Confirmed

Michael Bay is faster and faster plummeting in my estimations, making it harder and harder to be as excited as I want to be about Transformers.

Back on April 13th, we reported on the leaked trailer featuring Optimus Prime with some really questionable lips. Days later I reported how "Nelson" from Michael Bay's official blog said he had spoken to Bay and that the whole lips thing was a result of "the Europeans" using test footage.

Well this morning TFW 2005 revealed a new picture from the LA Times showing head-on, Optimus Prime's full face without mouth shield. And guess what, you can see it already. He. Has. Freakin'. Lips.

Now it's probably not as awful as it could look seen from the front, but the whole removable face-plate thing in the first place is just pointless.

What's really pissing me off though isn't even the lips anymore. This is the third time there's been an incidence of someone connected to the studios blatently making stuff up in some half-assed "damage control" exercise in the space of about a month and getting caught out in the process. I'm done with this story because that statement in itself should be enough.

Clearly studios think we, and you, are stupid.

I'm not even a Transformers fanboy and I'm disappointed about the lips, just use the face guard. After they denied the lips AICN's review said they were in. This could also mean Prime's non-Cullen sounding voice in the same leaked footage is how he actually sounds.
