Prometheus Viral Reveals Stunning New Image
When the first trailer for Ridley Scott's Prometheus dropped in December, one of the most fascinating shots we spotted involved what looked like the space jockey seat rising out of a platform with an extremely tall guy standing off to the right. At that time it was a bit jarring to see, as we were still not 100% sure if Prometheus was an original project or, as rumored, a prequel to Scott's 1979 classic, Alien. Since then, however, those theories have been confirmed, as a new viral video for the film was released featuring Guy Pearce as Sir Peter Weyland, one of the founders of Weyland-Yutani, the corporation at the center of the original Alien franchise. Today that same viral campaign released a new image from the movie - featuring that same platform we saw in that trailer - and boy is it a stunner.
A few hours ago the official Prometheus Twitter account sent out a message urging fans to "invest" in Weyland Industries by heading to the viral homepage and clicking on a link in the top right corner. Apparently this was part of a game that Twitter user @MOVIELORD101 solved and the result was an amazing new still. The movie, which stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Ben Foster, Guy Pearce, and Logan Marshall-Green, is about a team of scientists who travel into space to try and discover the origins of mankind. What they end up finding, however, could spell the end of humanity's existence. Prometheus drops in theaters on June 8th and for more about the film you can head over to our Blend Film Database.
